PAYMENT
Photo shoots can be reserved with a £50 booking fee, with the remaining balance due on the day of your photoshoot.
IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL
I totally understand that life throws curveballs – illness, childcare issues, last minute work commitments, etc. Because I will have turned down other work once I booked your slot, I will need to retain your booking fee. However, for cancellations or postponements with more than 48 hours’ notice, I will work with you to find a suitable alternative date.
IF I HAVE TO CANCEL
I will only ever cancel as a last resort – illness or injury. If this is the case I will either reschedule at a convenient date for you, or offer a full refund.
PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES
I am based in South West London. Any job within 45 minutes travel time is included in the prices quoted here. But I am ready and willing to travel further when costs and time are covered – just ask.
INSURANCE
I have public liability insurance - please ask if you'd like to see a copy.
WHO OWNS THE PHOTOS?
As soon as I press the shutter on my camera to take a photograph, I own the copyright to that photograph and it should not be used without my permission.
However, all images purchased come with a full print release, which allows you to print and share with family, friends and on social media.
What you don’t have permission for is to edit the image, claim the work as your own or use it for commercial gain. Those require copyright permission.
I have the right to use any photograph I take for marketing purposes. However, I will never use names or allow jigsaw identification of minors in my advertising and social media.
EDITING
I always carefully edit photos before sending them to you – colour balance, exposure adjustments, lightening and brightening, wrinkle and line 'smudging' (ideal for tired new Mums), subtle teeth whitening etc.
Should you wish me to work on a more stylised, magazine style edit, I am able to do this for an extra charge.
For those who have purchased the 'Event' package with 'light touch' editing, I charge £10 per photo for a magazine style finish.
PRINTING
Most of my clients prefer the flexibility of digital images. However, I can organise bespoke printing and framing to fit all budgets, on request.
RAINING CATS AND DOGS
The perfect sunny day is never a given in the UK, which can lead to some anxiety when planning a photo shoot or event.
If it rains on the day of your scheduled photo shoot then don’t panic - we can make it work for us. Bright umbrellas, wellies, atmospheric moody forests, reflections in puddles – and extra laughter as a bonus – because we’ve all laughed at the ridiculousness of British weather before, haven’t we?!
If it’s an option, we can move the shoot indoors and use the weather as a background prop – think raindrops on windows and snuggling inside with a cup of something warm and delicious.
On rare occasions, it may pour so heavily that there’s a risk of damage to the camera (condensation for example) and if we can’t move indoors then rescheduling the shoot is the most sensible option. I will work with you to find a suitable date that’s mutually convenient.
TEARS & TANTRUMS
Don’t be worried about your child being overtired or grumpy on the day of the shoot. I have two boisterous hyperactive young boys of my own and am Auntie to three more very young children. I’ve seen every type of tantrum imaginable, have dealt with countless reluctant models, and I have the skills and patience to cope with most scenarios.
If things get really bad, I call in for help from my assistants (Mr Finger Puppet and Mrs Dairy Milk Button). But I put no pressure on children to sit in a pose for ages – the best photos are of spontaneous chuckles at something just out of the frame or a cheeky smile.
